Lawrence, who plays astronomer Kate Dibiasky in the flick, explained Hill’s character, Jason Orlean, is ‘the worst’ and it was really hard to not ‘ruin’ every take when filming with Hill. Catch the trailer here:
Directed by Adam McKay, the 2021 release, sees Lawrence and DiCaprio take on the role of astronomers trying to warn people about the end of the world.
The official synopsis reads: “Two astronomers go on a media tour to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet hurtling toward Earth.
But, while it seems the impressive cast list has proved a hit with fans, behind-the-scenes of the movie things between them were a little bit stickier, with Lawrence recently revealing that working with Hill was actually “really, really hard.”
She continued, “We one time dedicated an entire day to him just improv-ing insults at me. It was amazing.”
Commenting on Hill’s ability to improv, the Hunger Games star revealed he and “Meryl were the only ones who should do that kind of improve.”
“I mean, he’s just a comedic master,” she added.
When asked what she wants viewers to take away from the film, Lawrence resolved she thinks the movie is ‘a really fun, hilarious way to laugh at ourselves’.
However, the actor explained the ‘biggest thing’ for viewers to take away is ‘to stop handling information the way that we do now, where there’s like the truth and science and then politics, or you know, personal feelings involved’.
She said: “You know, we should all just be on the same page of, you know, taking care of our planet, and taking care of mankind. World peace would be my hope.”
