The beauty of the beach, which is surrounded by a small hillock, is made even more beautiful by the sand the size of rice grains.
Arisimalai is not only a tourist attraction. It’s a place of Archaeological value. It has a long history with Buddhist heritage. The first two devotees who took refuge with the Buddha were merchants named “Thapassu” and “Bhalluka”. They brought Buddha’s hair relics and landed in Sri Lanka from the Arisimalai ferry. A temple is located above Arisimalai beach. Here forest Monks live and meditate.
